WHAT WE DO.
Rhoda Mason is an accredited Mediator (NMAS) and experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) and Supervisor. Rhoda is also trained as a Collaborative Professional and Conflict Coach. Rhoda is working privately as a Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, based in Subiaco.

MEET RHODA
WHERE IT ALL STARTED.
During her work life Rhoda worked for Legal Aid WA as a lawyer for 11 years primarily representing children in the Children’s Court of WA and also in the Family Law section working with the Separate Representation of children in the Family Court of WA. Rhoda’s interest in the voice of the child and the desire for children to be listened to and considered in court processes led to her moving into mediation as her primary focus. Rhoda has worked as a Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner for the last thirteen years. In her employment with a community-based, not for profit Australian organisation, Rhoda held a senior role as an experienced Mediator and Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, and worked with clients as their FDR Practitioner (in Family separation matters) or as their Mediator (in Workplace mediations). Rhoda completed Advanced Training in Clinical Supervision and worked as a Supervisor of other mediators within the organisation. Rhoda was also actively involved with the training, coaching and assessing of FDRP students.

Rhoda’s thoughtful approach to mediation is based on her awareness of the dynamics of relationships and the stressors of separation which often make conversations difficult at this time. Rhoda uses a facilitative mediation model which is structured whilst allowing time for clients to fully discuss their concerns and ideas for resolution.

Underpinning Rhoda’s practice is the belief that respectful treatment of all people involved in the separation process is fundamental to the possibility of understanding the other person’s concerns and for there to be improvement in clients’ ongoing communication with each other.
